SIP or lump sum: Which is better? | Do SIPs always give better returns than lump-sum investments?

Many investors think that SIPs are better than lump-sum investments. Then, there are many others who believe that lump sums can get you better returns. The truth is that it depends on the market phase. If the markets rally unidirectionally, a lump-sum investment made at the beginning will likely generate better returns. However, if markets are choppy, SIPs have a better chance as you get to buy frequently at falls. So, neither SIPs nor lump sums are better than the other. They are just modes of investing. #etmoney #shorts

It is better to keep SIP running and when market is down, add some lumpsum. Get benefit of both. It is not necessary to choose one of them, why not both of them.

I have been crunching data since Jan 2020. Lumpsum vs Sip 12 months vs Sip 6 months vs Sip 3 months vs Sip 2 months for same amount. Lumpsum wins comfortably over 60% of time. So if you have to invest largesum of money if market is nit at all time high and we do not have last 2 month candle as green we can go for Lumpsum 100% of the time.

Its funny, because SIP is done mostly by the service sector people, who invests part of their salary! Now one cannot invest their entire salary if the market goes down

My personal opinion is both are more or less the same over the long run.. Like say, 9 years +..

The person cleverly hides the fact of cost averaging feature in SIP just to promote the video. In a nutshell SIP - safe and consistent for the long term (more than 5 years) .. for lumpsum, you need to take risk and leave it to market.

Sip wins in both cases, as it generates good profit in both scenarios. While lumpsums Investment fail in one case.

If market is low do lumpsum & if it's high do SIP.

That's not the right way to look at it... u should have considered the amount not invested as lumpsum during SIP method would also fetch you interest when kept in bank either savings or FD/RD..
