"If something is colorful and vibrant in nature, there must be a good reason why it's not trying to hide."

At this point: you are just swimming in the ocean and then die randomly.

Fun fact: the blue bottle jellyfish (also called Portuguese man o' war) is not a jellyfish, it looks like it but it's actually a siphonophore, a colonnial organism made of multiple units. The "head" and each tentacles are different units who are genetically identical although they look different. Although they're different idinividuals, they have to live together in order to survive

I'm glad he clarified it's not a real dragon, because I was worried for a second there.

I once heard something like "If it's beautiful in the oceans. Don't touch it, it could kill you"

Blue bottles hurt more. However on a scale of 1-10 it’s a 1 compared to say the irikanji or box jelly. As a teenager I worked on a prawn trawler in north west Australia. When the bluebottles get tangled in nets there tentacles would slap you in the face, neck and any bare skin. More of a horrible itch than pain. Been stung and have scars from the box jelly, pain varies from nothing to hot knife constantly stabbing you. Lasts about 4-5 hours. The irikanji puts you into shock instantly. A horrible feeling of dread overwhelms you. Pain can last up to a week and no pain killers work. The irikanji is a 10 every time I’ve been stung.

Only australians would describe a biblically accurate angel as "squishy and friend-shaped"

It is found mostly in Australia btw.

Why am i not surprised

Edit: its apparently found in other regions too. But it is *primarily* found in Australia. With only very rare finds in South Afrika, Oceania as a whole and even some sightings in the EU

Thank you so much for posting about this animal. It is my favorite and not many people know about it. This made my day, thanks again.

The mouth looks like an eyeball if you squint, that's so weird. What a great little danger monster 👌
