Conclusion: no damage to the battery or phone only limits some performances like bg apps running and refresh which you barely notice.

Bro, from tests done on battery, according to the data:
1) If we keep the phone around 50% (impractical so people including computers and I think teslas allow a feature for you to cap your charging wif in which 30-80% is recommended for real life use).
2) Too much heat plays a MAJOR role in battery degradation.
3) Natural battery degradation happens over charge cycles (a full charge from empty) which means just charging and using your device more will cause more disturbance within the chemistry of the battery degrading it.
4) Simply making the battery and leaving it there, it will drain over time anyways, although this is the slowest form of degradation. Once again, the best way is to keep it at 50% even though degradation still happens.

Both of these are derived from the chemistry in our Li-ion batteries. Low power mode simply reduces the clock speed (and hence, reduces the heat from using your phone as much as possible while prolonging the use of a charge cycle). Inevitably, low power mode should in theory increase battery life. The feature simply wasn’t released long enough for the conclusive research is done. Saying that low power mode is bad for your battery is simply the most stupid thing I’ve heard if we look at what we know about the chemistry of the battery. This feature is just as bad if not better than using the phone with this feature off. Although, obviously, I can’t definitively say until more research is done, just wanna be reasonable here.

Battery is more important to me and when I want performance I can just turn it off. Just a simple math if my phone lasts longer and I charge less my battery will last longer and I don’t have to replace it.

Lpm draining your battery seems like an urban legend to me. Heard my friend telling me abt how it ruined battery life, so i watched this vid. It confirmed what i already figured lol. It just slows everything down and stops things i dont need. If it was damaging, apple would have some sort of warning built in

Less background processes = charge lasts longer = less charging cycles = battery lasts longer.

Just turn off low power mode if and when you need that extra boost in performance.

LPM is same as Battery Saving Mode in laptops. I leave it always on in my iPhone. You can just turn it off when gaming or when you need some boost for heavy apps.

Thank you. The low power just popped up and I had no idea why.

For people who don’t know if it’s bad or not it isn’t bad for your phone ❤

Low power mode certainly is a positive for the health of the battery or longevity of the battery. Low power mode reduces the draw or drain on the current charge, essentially the battery is depleting at a slower rate since there is less functions demanding power. For example, lower power mode will turn off some apps that refresh in the background (if you don't have that setting already disabled), it will turn off some apps location requests (if you have that setting on for particular apps), it will also dim the screen and lessen the time before the screen locks....these various things put less demand on the battery. If you choose to ALWAYS or OFTEN turn low power mode on manually, your battery will stay healthy longer, though you may lose some functionality or the full experience of the phone --brighter screen, background refreshing of apps, etc.

I wish someone talk about how choppy low power mode makes the 13 pro max

Other guy: it’s because your eyes are used to 120htz in in 60htz in low pow

Me: oh

Surely low power mode does increase the life span of your battery though because it means if you have it on all the time then you can charge it less.

So is it good to put on low battery mode?

I just don’t get it, sometimes feels like that low power mode drains my battery more than just turned off. Maybe I’m fooling my self..

Why would apple provide a feature that only does harm

I found this video because we have started seeing iOS 17 drain our batteries (iPhone 13) about 25% faster than with iOS 16. I can't find the reason why. Neither of us are power users, and honestly, the iPhone 13 is overkill for our needs as we get several days on a charge. I can see using Low Power Mode for most of the day.

Sounds like it’s something Apple was saying not to use it all the time and he was recognizing it will affect the experience but when something is running the same if whatever that is it gets used to it so if you run it on low power mode long time then take it off it’s more so change in the system that it s not used to again it has to shift for that change sure very small percentages taken off your battery’s life like a hard drive on a computer but they are there
