Noise is a big issue, because it’s more noticeable on out-of-focus areas of the shot, but letting the background go out of focus relative to the actor/subject yields a more smooth, even background that makes it easier to key out. Being able to start at a higher resolution and down sample let’s you get rid of a lot of that noise, so you’re just left with a smooth background.

For me, it depends on the lighting conditions of what the intended background is.

Also, avoid green for ext coz plants and trees which might make the keying more difficult.

Great lesson. What do you do about keying when there‘s blue in the scene? Blue eyes? Jeans? How do you work around that?

So something like 12K with full readout RGB sensor at 16Bit RAW would be absolute 'magic.
