This song was in heavy rotation on the radio and MTV back then. We all loved the song. I don't remember any negativity towards the song by radio or MTV.

A few choice tracks from Cheap Trick:
"Southern Girls" (studio version) 1977 -
"California Man" (studio version) 1978 -
"Gonna Raise Hell" (studio version) 1979.
- Actually, every song on their album Dream Police 1979 is great!

Back when this came out, I was about 13 yrs old, and I'm glad I grew up in that era, because people were not overly sensitive like they are now, and we had great music, movies, and comedians as a result. We could find humor in and laugh at our differences and similarities. People had thicker skin then, and didn't get their feelings hurt as easily, and we were taught to speak the truth, regardless of if it upset anyone, because speaking the truth was more important.

Cheap Trick was such a great party band. Gotta check out California Man and Gonna Raise Hell! We were in our 20's in the 80's, music was all sex drugs & rock n roll, I think that's how Grunge started, maybe it was our walk of shame lol

I have seen Cheap Trick live many times over the years. Starting in1980 they opened the show that night with one of my favorites "I cant stop the music". These guys put on a great show, not a lot of special effects, just straight up rocking pretty loud too. I got to enjoy them live 2-3 more times in the 90's, twice on the "woke up with a monster" tour. And then again 2 more times in the early to mid 2000's.

I am from the 80's and anyone knows from that era that the term "Tight" meant cool, clean, awesome!!! Example: "Those wheels are tight on that car!" I am a high school teacher and some of the terms today are much more "Goofier."

I saw Cheap Trick for the first time just a bit after "Cheap Trick at Budokan"came out. This group was big in Japan before they hit back here. A lot of performers felt strange doing Japan. They would go insane and jam out like the second coming! Then ... gentle claps.. Very respectful, then ... Cheap Trick hit town and Japan found it's voice! Rick Nielsen is one of the best guitar players I have witnessed in my 50 years of that stuff. He can stank back and do rhythm and light fills along the way, then 15 minutes of deadly amazing guitar craziness. My only sadness is after seeing them with his son on drums that replaced Bun E' Carlos is good but the basic sound is different. Bun had a certain style and technique that is just as noticeable as Rick, or Robin Zander. Tom Peterson jams along quite nicely on the bass and ads vocals.

I don't recall hearing this on the radio, but my best friend in college had a cassette with this song. Later, I purchased their Best of CD - and this was on it. Fun song!

Cheap Trick is a great band. "She's Tight" is a great song. Some people won't like this, of course. They were a band out of the 1970s, not the 1980s, to put this into proper context. They were heavily influenced by the BEATLES in their "hippy days" and it really shows in many of Cheap Trick's songs. On the scale of "dirty" this is actually pretty tame. When "She's Tight" came out it was well received and nobody was freaking out about it. Sure, there is some sexual innuendo in some Cheap Trick songs but it really isn't that graphic. You can listen to much more graphic material on ONE rap song than the entire song library of Cheap Trick songs.

Hahahah, T's laugh is so infectious, lol. Kills me every time he gets going from some "wild" stuff from the 80s.

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but Ain't that a Shame is a cover of a 1950s Fats Dominoe tune.

I've always loved cheap trick. A great band that made great songs. They were very popular for many years. I think this album was the first without Tom Peterson, their original bassist, but he was back in the band soon, maybe even by the next album. I saw them in concert several times and they still sounded great just a few years ago.

Tight as in cold, smooth, or whatever term is used today. Did you notice the 5 neck quitar? Kid Rock said if you think you play great live concerts, check out Cheap Trick.
