Finally diving into some Cheap Trick!! A bit overdue but here nonetheless! Thinking about showing Alex their song ‘Surrender’ for a music share sometime, what do you guys think?! 🔥🙌🏻

All the “dissonant chords” and stuff is the ‘Dream Sequence’. It’s a nightmare. That’s what they’re going for. It’s a nightmare sequence. Very Beatlesasque.

Cheap Trick are one of the hardest working bands ever. Non stop touring for decades. You really need to check out some live clips. California Man is a good one. With the new Sparks documentary coming out soon it would be a good time to check them out too.

OK, this one is so easy you guys!

The ordeal Andy faces in listening to the disparate aspects of this song can be summed up in the title and lyrics themselves.

Because this is a song about nightmares and paranoia, the two (bi-polar) halves of the song swirl in and out of each other from beginning to end. So it’s perfectly OK if it sounds a little schizophrenic.

But it’s still ear candy through and through.

Trust me, after a couple more listens, the 2 halves will snap together so perfectly.

You’ll stop resisting and enjoy the ride. Just simply allow the chocolate and peanut butter to melt in your mind.

Criminally underrated, all-time rocking powerhouse!! Great choice, guys!!

I’ve always thought Cheap Trick have more in common with New Wave bands like the Cars, Squeeze and Blondie than they do with the stuff they’re lumped in with like Aerosmith and Def Leppard.

You're gonna check out 'I Want You To Want Me' from Live at Budokan. This is required listening for your classic rock PhD.

I definitely prefer “Surrender” and would love for you to give it a listen.

You gotta listen to their live album from Boudakin. The live versions of some of the songs are still radio staples to this day.

“ I Want You To Want Me” or “Surrender” however it’s MANDATORY to use the Live At Budakon versions.
