I do think it’s a bit odd that cosmetics have become so expensive in larger games. The price of a whole game to look like one thing is a bit much. It would be interesting to see the revenue models of having cheap cosmetics vs expensive packs.

I have unlocked both premium war bonds without spending any additional usd because you can earn super credits in game. If halo would do this there would be no reason for anyone to complain

You can also get enough credits from playing to buy the pass. I bought the first pass, and since then haven't spent a dollar. I've been able to buy the new warbonds and a few armor pieces in the super store. 🤷🏼

If they had made all items released in the season unlockable through the season passes, or if they had made each item cheaper and sold individually instead of selling them in $20 bundles maybe Infinite's live-service monetization could've worked.

They've even talked about that color customization
could possibly be added in a future update. Plus super credits can be found in game FREE. I got the third warbond with finding enough. Play level one missions and farm POIs.

"Halo" infinite is also just outright trying to make me buy the default Halo Reach Armor. The one I got for free by buying Halo: Reach long before they sat down and decided to make every armor they give out now cost money. I would rather grind for everything than just be able to buy it. It's more fun that way. It's the ORIGINAL POINT of the game's multiplayer.

Dont forget helldivers "passes" never go away and you can earn the currency in game at a pretty generous rate cknsidering the prices. Hell i walked outta a single game with almost 100 credits.

The store for Infinite just gets worse as time passes. Only way I can see them fixing it is allowing 10-20 earnable credits for weekly completion/Victorys. It’s not much, but since battle passes are gone at least we would have options that don’t require emptying the wallet.

I bought the 20 dollar super credits and still have over 800 left over and I bought everything I wanted. 20 dollars will get you a backpack item in diablo 4

Also it's not purely cosmetic. Yeah they repeat the passives a lot, but each armor set does something in the game

I still remember when microtransaction used to be 1-3 dollars for weapon skins and operator/human skins. Meanwhile 10 bucks are for new map/expansion. Now all the whale have convince publisher to push normal looking skin to have 10 dollar price and skin with extra effect cost 15.

Don’t forget the fact that’s it’s insanely easy to make SCs in this game, I have like 50ish hours and I’ve made like 2.5k SCs. And it’s not like I’m actively looking for them, I’m just getting them from playing the game.

Not to mention the bundle stuff. There's that brute pistol and brute shotgun in the store with the yappening event. I want both of them but I don't want the armor that goes with. So I've got to buy a bundle that cost $25 to get a skin for a pistol that I want. So if I wanted the pistol and the shotgun it would cost me $50. For nothing. Digital eye candy that I won't pay attention to a few years from now. I've been saying since the beginning that armor sets in Halo should cost $10. Gun skins should cost five. Sell themseparately
