I actually didn't pay much attention to IRyS during her 1st week debut since I learned that she's called a Vsinger and that I thought she'll only do music related activities.

And here I am now a proud member of the Nephamily for 1 year! So glad I changed my mind and I really did enjoy her OG design together with her personality!

It was pretty much a foregone conclusion. It always felt kind of awkward to have IRyS as a separate solo project, and she naturally filled in the void that Sana left. And from a marketing standpoint, Promise is a much simpler/easier title than CouncilRyS.

I've always had this feeling that Irys would fill in the gap that Sana left behind. Of course that cinnamon roll will never be forgotten.

I think it was the best thing that could had happen to IRyS, that project Hope was closed down and she became a full fletched member of council. It is less limiting as just being a Vsinger and she has genmates that are with her for the ride.

But Sana will never be forgotten or replaced! She will forever be a member council and council will always have 6 members.

I think it's clear enough. CouncilRyS was pretty much a single gen for a long time. It would be disrespectful to Sana to just put IRyS on the Council (without granting her the rank of Master), so the next best solution was to just reorganise Project Hope and Council into a GALACTIC EMPI-... I mean into a new gen called Promise.

Now that IRyS is officially part of the group, they are the classic team 7 consist of: Baeruto, Moomsuke, SakuRyS, Faunashi, and Ourochimaru

pretty sad to hear that the things that were planned for project hope in the beginning didn't come to fruition. mustve been a pretty big point of frustration for irys.

I think Hololive should have bet a little more on Irys. They played it too safe, giving her mostly the usual Idolmaster/Love Live kind of songs, all in japanese, when she is HoloEn. For the usual japanese songs they already had multiple people for that role already, like Suisei. When I listened to Sparks of Joy or Gravity I thought they should have focused on that kinda songs.

So it's like certain Super Sentai/Power Ranger series where the sixth/silver Ranger who has been working alone/anti-hero for half the series finally joining on the good guy side.

In all honesty, if cover wants a foot in the music industry they already have Calli. I always laughed at how irys is technically their only vsinger yet Calli is much further in the music side. I'm not comparing the two, but I think they realized that after irys debuted and killed it as a streamer which led to this. I'm pretty happy with it too because it felt weird having irys by herself

It's a rebrand since the name council will always be associated with sanas inclusion and that's what ppl will think of. Meanwhile project hope hasn't meant anything for a while. So a rebrand that symbolizes the 4 remaining plus irys was a rebrand decision they felt was needed to move on.

Seeing this reminds me again of Miko's struggle. Almost similar to Irys. Like having a separate project but the results are not as expected, then finally joining with other members. Hopefully Holo Promise can make Irys happier and more successful.

I prefer CouncilRyS over Promise, honestly. It shows an organic growth in the culture of Hololive, that not even when things don't work out perfectly, the community and the members are able to adapt. When newcomers see CouncilRyS, they're gonna ask about it, which will lead to stories about Council's inception and lore, Sana's departure, and the first few years where Irys was this very experimental member who eventually got grafted onto Council. Rebranding it to Promise...it sweeps away the concise story that the name CouncilRyS tells.

Yeah I never really got the whole VSinger thing since she just streamed like everyone else from Day 1. But makes sense that they probably wanted to try different stuff and just never got to it. Anyway I think they found a great solution, let’s see what HoloPromise has in store.

So, in a nutshell, same like AZKi. I mean, IRyS has always been part of Council even before Sana graduated. As long as she’s happy with it, it’s all good good.
