At 105 episodes, many of us have long awaited the arrival of Kurt Rosenwinkel to the living room stage. *And in the spirit of the phenomenal guitarists that have jammed with the Trio, Kurt brings distinctive warmth & his understated coolness.* (And with a first glance of his shirt, you know the man’s delivering the goods — a hip display of ‘shifting design’, no doubt. )
*There is such fluid intentionality in Kurt’s playing — so purposeful, profound, & utterly unforced.*
Family, this was another top-tier, Emmet’s Place moment.
He has a rare sense of space, coupled by an awareness of how the elements behave. *Kurt’s spontaneity invites a union of sound, light, & perspective. Lucky us, we can not only feel his notes, but ‘see’ them take shape on that canvas of vibration.*
Yeah man, *a soulful groove doesn’t come without a close relationship to the Source* — and, last night, we got a step closer to that Divine dimension. ❤️‍🔥
Thank you Kurt, Emmet, Kyle, & Claffy for sharing your artistry & including us in such a special, special evening.🎼🌎🌌✨

Kurt Rosenwinkel is in his own league. The top tier of jazz guitarist of all time. his vocabulary is so vast, never running out of ideas and swings his tail off! I’m so glad you featured him on this concert. 100 stars!

This was an awesome show. I have heard a lot about Kurt, yet never had seen him play. His fluidity is amazing and his sound is fantastic. A truly gifted guitarist. I will try to see him live.

Here in the teeming metropolis of Peoria, IL, jazz of this calibre is the exception, not the norm. Don't get me wrong. There are many exceptional and dedicated players, just not the necessary demographics that result in the venues and audiences on any kind of regular basis. It is what it is. Having Youtube channels such as this, Small's Jazz Club and others helps in allowing us who love this expression to absorb and to enjoy. If we can't get it live, we can come here and get it virtually. Thank you for the artistry, the virtuosity and the willingness to share it, even ***way *** out here.
