Ever noticed a sewer smell near your water heater? You're not alone, and it's a problem that requires immediate attention. In this video, Chase from @KCWaterHeaters explains that the culprit is often the cleanout on the floor drain. These cleanouts are usually removed to tackle backed-up or slow-moving drains, but it's critical to put them back. Neglecting to do so can allow harmful sewer gases into your home, affecting not just the smell but also your health—especially if a sewer is being lined. Learn how to identify and resolve this issue with our expert guidance. #SewerSmell #WaterHeater #HomeSafety #KCMO

Super jealous of these wide open basements compared to the tiny crawl spaces we have here in Cali.

I don't see a clean out on the floor drain in the basement of the house I rent a room in. Is it possible the house is so old there's no U or S trap at all and that's why gas is getting out?

That is one ugly gas connection if you're going to use a flexible connection size matters for a professional job
