I'm sure I could search but, off hand, any videos on Coltrane Changes? I want to figure that stupid song out but I have no university and my background is mostly neoclassical. I've solo'd over Giant Steps by just modulating between 3 Ionian key's, adding #4 and Dom7 tones for "Lydian Dominant" sounds, and randomly switching to WholeTone but I'm sure its super incorrect. Trouble for me is, I generally dont have an interest in traditional jazz at all, just shred which led me from Shawn Lane to Allan Holdsworth and now I'm here. Although I do enjoy me the odd Fats Waller tune as he's just fun, but his stuff sounds like alot more basic structure pop jazz to me. Any advice for chord changes aside from "learn triads" would be great, I dont really get using triads either, I'm goofy and totally untrained in jazz, but I do know a decent amount of theory.

I’ve been playing a long time now and I know 100% that if I learnt the method Daniel teaches in the GMG course, my playing would’ve been on a much higher level than the ‘self taught fake it till you make it ‘ method I came up with lol. He’s a great teacher and it’s a great course. It’s never too late to know what you’re doing !! 👍🫡🏆🥇
