I upgraded to 4.0 yesterday and it looks good. I haven't tried it yet but I'm looking forward to the new features. Being able to use vase mode with other modes in the same print was one of the suggestions I made on their forum. One of the things I like most about Simplify3D is that they provide a very rich set of features but also make them as easy to use and accessible as possible. I'm planning on doing some production 3D printing and some of these new features are going to improve the quality as well as the print time.

Glad you chose to demo that feature with that little dome, it reminded me of a problem I'd given up on. I'm gonna have to take a look at this variable layer height business. I have a small toothpick case that I've managed to get one working print out of many many garbage pieces. I believe it now to be purely accidental. It has three parts that require a little sanding to make fit once printed. A model which I'm sure would work brilliantly in powder or resin can be hell for FFF to accomplish.

Ugh! Any way to remix this without that horrible music? Seems like great info but I can only take a minute or so at a time. Love your work. You don't need background music. :-)

Could the 'bug' have been because you used 0.15. all the rest where divisible by 2 maybe 0.16 would stop the bug ?

Most of their new features have already been in Cura for quite some time now. Interface layers, settings per feature and variable infill/support have been there for months.

I am getting an error after doing the split process- "The maximum print height cannot be less than the minimum print height".

Very informative video, but the music drove me nuts ! I plan on buying Simplify 3D tonight at home ... I hope it doesn't come with music ...LOL, LOL.

i'm not going to read all these comments before i post this, so maybe someone has already pointed this out, but if you tell the process to go from 20mm to 25mm by increments of .15mm, then you'll have a third of a layer that it can't figure out before it starts the new process at 25mm. i would assume they would just print that next layer at the current process specified layer height, and then move on, but i guess not. a little user calculation and you can figure it out though.

There is some wrong info: slic3r can not only create diferent settings based on layers, useing modifiers you can change any setting for a specific region of the object, something slimplify3d still cant do since the processes only works on the Z axis. But it is a great release of simplify

awesome! I just downloaded the setup and updated. the next step should be some wizard tool to smooth between process change like prusa edition of slic3r can do. great content as always!

Nice to shorten the work flow with the variable settings wizard. Good to have a single wall too. That just eliminated MB slicer for me. The rest is extra gravy.

So if I wanted to use the multiple processes to initiate a filament swap (m600) I would just add that to the start code of each process? Or is there an easier way?

Almost 20 Minutes without getting annoyed by the Content. Not even 1 Minute until i got annoyed by the Music ;)

Man I wish I had seen this a couple of months ago, summers are a busy time for me (my photo is a big hint why) so I hadn't gotten around to actually learning the new features except the thin wall (Overlap tip is something I wish I knew earlier) Just a month ago I did several pieces with multi/variable settings but did it the old fashioned way which is a real time killer. I didn't even notice the variable settings wizard which would have saved me a lot of time and brain cramps

I'm also surprised that I haven't come across your channel before which seems to be more focused on content and not so much on trying to entertain me which I find to be a bit annoying sometimes as I have to watch 10 minutes of entertainment to get 2 minutes of usable information
