And Walmart moved that "tech" back to his old spot in the toy department.

Going to Wal-Mart for auto service is like going to McDonald's for fine dining.

Walmart mechanics are straight out high school. I wouldn't trust Walmart with a bicycle.

I wouldn't even trust Walmart to change my blinker fluid.

And that is why you don’t bring your car in for service at Walmart

Wal Mart is for buying things, NOT for working on your stuff.

I wouldn’t trust Walmart to check my oil, let alone change it.

Years ago, we had a mercury grand Marquis coming in on a wrecker. An elderly woman had her oil changed at Walmart, when she went to pick her vehicle up, it made it from auto center, to the Walmart sign at the front of the parking lot before the engine locked up. It had no oil! WALMART ended up having to fork over a brand new crate engine from Ford, plus labor to have it replaced.

That’s why I do my own, it’s easy and I don’t trust others working on my car

What a great service you did for this woman and for all consumers. Companies should be scared of stories like this going viral. Thank you for what you do.

I’ve heard of this before. They forget to drain the old oil first before adding the new oil. Shame Walmart ghosted her until they were about to get bad publicity.

The day before we went on a ski trip we took our 2021 4Runner to Jiffy lube… we were told they spilt oil all over our skid plate and told us that if we see oil drippings on our garage floor not to worry. When we woke to leave on our trip there was oil on the floor like they said. However, the oil maintenance light never shut off… weird. Maybe they didn’t reset it? As we were climbing up a mountain the 4Runner was making some weird sounds. Once we reached the bottom it locked up and we lost power. Got out to look and the engine was raining oil and the dip stick was dry. Jiffy lube double gasketed the oil filter. All employees who touched our car were fired and jiffy lube paid for a brand new engine. $21k later we have a new engine. Took them 2 1/2 weeks.

Tell her to take her new car back to Walmart for a complimentary oil change 😂

The lesson here is never take your car to those quick oil change places, Walmart, BJs, etc. I wouldn't trust them to add wiper fluid, much less change the oil. These places don't pay much, so rarely attract technicians with much experience....

This is why I work on my car. Finding a good or honest mechanic is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Never bring your car to Wal-Mart, they won't hire licenced mecha ics.

I work at a mechanic shop. You wouldn't believe the cars that come to us with stripped, cross threaded, and rounded off oil drain plugs we see come from Walmart and other quick lube places
