I think she accepted the verdict of death when she decided that she didn’t want or need a lawyer to represent her case.

It’s like she’s sitting at the DMV waiting for her number to be called.

Imagine being the school nurse, doing everything you can to report the abuse, which got Emani to her Grandma's. Imagine being the Grandma fighting for custody, doing everything you can do give the child a good life. Imagine being the family member that reported to the child protective services, challenging homeschooling, knowing that Emani would be harmed. All of these people tried to help, fought for the child, and known abusers were given more rights than the good people in her life. Now, after all this, they have to hear about this child's horrid end, and it sucks.

that poor child knew nothing but abuse in her life with the exception of living with her grandma for 6 months. my heart aches for what she went through.

Child services should also be held responsible since the grandmother wanted Custody

That woman is as cold as ice. No remorse or apology. She beat and tortured that precious little girl. Her sentence is a just sentence.

Starving someone to death takes a while and there are signs. How did her father and teachers not notice?

When everyone saw what you did and they unanimously said “we do not feel safe with you alive, you have to die”, you know there is something wrong with you.
