In this episode of ‘Editorial’, Mr. Sujit Nair discusses the ‘Budget 2024’ announced by the Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman. Mr. Nair categorically highlights the special packages which were given to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, which consist of MPs of key NDA allies, the TDP led by N. Chandrababu Naidu & JD[U] led by Nitish Kumar in the recently formed Modi 3.0 government. Releasing special funds for states led by NDA allies, Mr. Nair calls such a move as a breach of Article 15 of the Constitution of India which discriminates a citizen of India by the ‘place of birth’.

This budget presented in the parliament today is a definite Violation of article 15 clause 1.Defenitely..
All other states of India other than Andhra and Bihar has violated the Constitution of India.
I request the Supreme Court of India will deliver justice to other Indians of India. The chief Ministers of NonBJP states should challenge this budget in the supreme Court.

Editorial was well analysed. Tamil Nadu last year suffered severely from flood and overseen by the FM herself and now turns a blind eye. FM did not stand for election and should be ashamed to hold a important portfolio.
No talk about Railways which in a bad shape with frequent accident. Nothing about senior citizens, unemployment and health care . The budget is to please TDP and Satish Kumar. Shameful and quid pro quo budget. Hope the opposition will create a tempest and nullify the budget.

With great fighting and deliberations, States were formed on language basis. Hanvng formed linguistic States, again they fought among themselves and divided that state. That was the case in Haryana/Chandigarh. U.P/Utharakhand, Bihar/Chateesgarh etc., and each State now want relief package as if some great disaster has occurred. Mr. Nair is right in saying that Central budget discriminates.
