I am the original owner of a 2015 Nissan Rogue. I do a lot of driving for my job. 300852 kms. Runs great. Always started in the coldest mornings in New Brunswick. Great vehicle. ❤

The problem with Honda North America is they're releasing washed down versions of Honda's. Look at the CRV's from overseas, they are packed with way more features.

My wife owned a Honda for 12 years. She currently driving a 2024 Rogue SL due to how comfortable the car is, the tech, ease of driving, etc. she liked her Honda, she loves her Nissan.

My dad got both of these SUVs. The Honda was a red color, but he totaled it. He owned it for a few months and it’s really good, it saved his life. Now he got the Rouge white color. Also we just found out that there’s a recall of the Honda’s steering wheels. For Gas mileage both are comparable especially when the Rouge is not a Hybrid like the Honda CRV. But really, You can’t get wrong with either of these cars.

My 2021 Rogue SL is still smooth as new now at 42.5K miles. And yes, Rogue interior and functionality are way better than CRV.
Dual view camera with 360 and pano moonroof are a game changer. It's 2024 now and Honda can't implement those 2 simple things?

For door handle, I personally prefer those with physical button to press instead of the haptic feedback or sensor whatever. It gives me solid assurance that the car will do what I tell it to do. My BMW X1 has that non-button touch door handle and it's finnicky. Sometimes it registers the touch, sometimes it lags, sometimes it just doesn't do anything and I have to touch it again to function.

Not sure on the CRV, but my 2020 Civic Sport didn't have the ability to lock the doors with engine running. Real bummer.
Rouge just checks all the boxes on functionality and looks for me.

On the rear end looks, I hate that lights on CRV that look like Volvo. Whatever their philosophy is, can they not come up with a different look?
But the front end looks better than the Rogue imo.

On fuel economy, let's use a 12K miles/year scenario and regular gas price of $4/gal (around DC MD VA area).
Rogue will consume 387.10 gals at 31 mpg average = $1, 548.38/year.
CRV takes 324.32 gals at 37 mpg average = $1, 297.30/year.
Difference is $251.09/year or $21/month extra expenses for Rogue.
Is it a significant difference?

On my second Rogue (1st was 2015 and zero issues with it, 2nd is 2024) and am blown away by all the features it has. I wanted a Lexus NX 250 but Rogue has so many more features for less money! You didn’t mention the remote engine start with the Rogue. It uses an app and works great which is important in Texas with the heat. I used TrueCar to get a great deal on Platinum Rogue with 2.9% financing for 60mo. Would be nice if Rogue had a hybrid option. I’m sure the crv is great, but I’ve had great experience with my Rogues! 👏🏼

I recently leased a 2024 Nisaan Rogue. My previous car was a 2019 Subaru Forrester and I was nervous to go from a Subaru ro a Nisaan BUT I do not regret it! I love my Rogue and I'm pretty sure that when my lease is up, I will upgrade tot he newest model an purchase it. It drives like a dream. I've been looking at the Pathfinders too, same great interior and tech. Thanks for the video!

Great video. And very fair comparison.
My father-in-law had an 21 CRV loaded with all the features. We own a 24 Rogue SL AWD with the premium package. What it lacks is the heated rear seat, heads up display, and the Bose system.
Pauls CRV didnt have these either.
After driving both, I like the Rogue much better. First off, the Honda dealer really did something in my opinion that was shady- they leased this car to my 81 year old father in law who has dementia. Now the fact that he told the dealer that he and my mother in law lived with my wife and I told me that they simply chose not to ask him qualifying questions or even attempt to call us. The lease was $602 monthly- just a couple hundred dollars less than their SS.
Then, after telling the dealer that he couldn't afford this, the dealer became nasty with me. And finally, after digging into his lease paperwork, it was discovered that the were charging him monthly for the Weather Tech interior protection products.
After all of this, in real life driving, the Honda felt very sluggish, seemed to have difficulty traversing the mountains where we live. I also drove it on a 6 hour road trip and found the drivers seat to be uncomfortable.
He got rid of it after only 8 months.
This past summer, we found that we needed a new car. I looked at Toyota, and Nissan. I also looked at Mitsubishi. (I didn't even waste my time at our Honda dealer)
After driving and researching, I found the Rogue to be a lot of car for the money; especially by staying away from the top tier model. Toyota wanted about $3000 more for the RAV and the Outlander was more.
I've owned a hybrid so that wasn't a deal break. Now, of course, you hear great and horrible reviews about any vehicle these days. But my opinion is this: unless you see catastrophic failure rates that are very high ( the GM diesel of the late 1970’s comes to mind) I believe in personal experience. Let's face it; everyone drives differently and maintains their cars differently. E.G. I'm on my second oil change at 8000 miles
So far, we haven't had a squeak, or rattle - nothing that has made us go back to the dealer.
The Nissan people seem to appreciate their customers. And, well, should issues arise that cannot be handled, I'll just sell it or trade it in!
That all said, we are very pleased with our Rogue and neither my wife or I would take a CRV if they were free.

for a base model i'd go with honda. for maxed out model, i'd go with Rogue. Platinums are built in japan, better quality and the interior is way more luxurious feeling than the CRV.

I’d never drive a Honda with its outdated technology. The inside of a 2024 Honda looks like the inside of a 2010 Nissan. Plus, the Rogue drives better. No comparison. Nissan also improved the CVT making it more efficient and reliable

This is the perfect comparison for me because these are the two cars I’m looking at! I like the CRV but it’s so hard to beat the rogue camera. I don’t understand why more cars don’t offer that.

I own a 2024 Rogue and I love the tech features, solid build quality and mpg. There is very little to chose between the Honda CRV, HOWEVER for me it came down to $$$ and as a previous Nissan Murano owner I got fantastic deal with Nissan on trade in!

I’ve driven both. The CRV is actually much larger on the inside. To the point where they’re almost in different size categories. The Rogue can properly be put in the “compact SUV” category. The CRV really feels more like a “mid-size SUV”.

Front seats, rear seats, and cargo space all feel much larger in the CRV. So if you’re looking for space, the CRV is the way to go.

On the other hand, the Rogue is physically a bit smaller, and easier to park with a 360 degree camera and a tighter turning radius.

Another important factor is reliability. Nissan has improved their previously unreliable CVT transmission. However, the Rogue’s engine uses new technology called variable compression. It’s really interesting tech, but it’s also new, and there are a lot of reports from owners of serious problems with it.

I’ve done a bit of research on all this because I’m in the market for a new family SUV and have looked at both of these.

I owned a 2015 Altima and was seriously looking at the Rogue. I ultimately went with the CR-V because of reliability and the hybrid engine. The Rogue also had a lot of reported fuel smell issues I didn't want to deal with for a new vehicle. I personally thought the interiors were pretty much on par. I've been very pleased with the CR-V thus far.
