Did you know that you can RV camp at the National Forest Hunting camps? They are beautiful, developed campsites nestled in the National Forests and open year round in Texas. I show you one campground off of FM1791 on 208 in the Sam Houston National Forest that is about 50 miles north of Houston, Texas. Each spot has a designated fire ring. #freecamping #tab400 #Texasfreecamping

I’m there now—on FR 208H. Thanks for the info. It’s so close and just what I like for a weekend getaway.

Thanks for making this video! I've lived in Texas all my life but never heard of this. We hunted a little but much more fishing and camping. These days I like to travel and camp and some fishing now and then. I will definitely try to find some hunter camps.

In Florida we do have some wildlife management areas. I usually stick to the state parks and National forest areas . That area you were in looks a lot like Fl ! Thanks for sharing.😁👍

Yes, Florida has these hunter camps also, however most if them are on rough roads here and are not big rig friendly. This is a huge hidden gem for a lot of folks that may not now they can camp in these hunter campgrounds. perfect share!

No, and no. I kept seeing the term 'pit toilet' but didn't know what one was. Looks like a modern day outhouse, where you trust strangers to have good aim when they hover over it. But I still don't know the difference between 'developed' and 'designated' camping spots. If they have spaces with a number on it, like the ones you reserve, I'd say it's both developed, and designated. But what do I know?
