Replace a with 9 and b with 5. (9^2+5^2=c^2.) Now, square them. 9^2=81 and 5^2 is 25. Now, add the two sides. 81+25=106. C^2=106. The last step is to square root 106. That equals 10.295630141. Round that to the nearest tenth, and you get x.
