Battery Charge Settings AGM vs Flooded vs Gel

In this video we highlight the differences in bulk/absorb and float charging AGM, Flooded and Gel deep cycle batteries.
Can you mix AGM with standard Flooded batteries? No
Can you mix Gel with AGM deep cycle batteries? No
What happens when you charge an AGM battery at the flooded settings? It will gas and eventually fail.

Great video Jeff, and excellent recommendations. I just watched a Odyssey AGM battery video on properly charging their batteries and it stated then need to be charged at 14.0 - 14.7 volts to properly charge them. I am not sure if all AGM batteries have this requirement but they are 12.9 volt batteries, and regular lead acid batteries are 12.6 volts, and should be charged at least a 1 volt higher voltage.

What's the most versatile battery charger available? I'm considering the Noco G26000, Noco G15000 and Noco G7200. I primarily want it for the camper that has two in series six volt flooded lead acid Trojan T145s but also for car batteries and as many other things as possible. The voltage settings for flooded vs GEL are in the description. It was my understanding that AGM can handle more amps at less voltage during charging while flooded can handle more voltage at less amps during charging. If anyone knows for sure (please cite source) please reply to this comment or visit my channel and comment. I want to make a thorough and accurate video on this subject after rigorous research.

Can I increase my charge current when I add more batteries in parallel to create a bigger bank . Manufacturer specifications typically only specify what amps to charge a SINGLE battery??

I have a wheelchair SLA battery (AGM) with the following values:

12V - 18Ah /20Hr

=== Constant Voltage Charge ====
Cycle use: 14.6 - 14.8V

Standby use: 13.5 - 13.8V

Initial current: 5.4V


I want to replace it with another SLA battery (AGM) that has exact same values except Initial current which is 3.6A not 5.4A
My question is what is Initial current mean? Can i replace each other without problem?

I am super confused with the AGM batteries. For example, NOCO G3500 has AGM mode in which it sends 900mA to the battery, and Normal mode which is sending 3.5A. Then there is VMAX MR137-120 AGM battery, and they say use a battery charger with min 8A, and that the battery needs to be fully charged withing 15 hours. What is the catch?
Why Vmax is recommending high AMP chargers for their batteries? Will they go bad if they get charged with 3.5A charger like NOCO G3500? Should I charge it as a Normal battery instead of Cold/AGM?

im trying a "smart charger" on a AGM ...it has a "reconditioning mode" and since im buying the vehicle used Its sat too long. What actually is the "Reconditioning" mode doing?
