2015 Mustang GT Goes 9.4 with 944 Horsepower! - AmericanMuscle.com

The AmericanMuscle 2015 Mustang GT has been in the shop getting a brand new built 5.0L Coyote motor ready to lay down serious power. After being the first 2015 Mustang in the 9's with a 9.91 second pass, the AM team decided to crank things up to well over 850 horsepower and hit the track. Unfortunately, that led to us reaching the limits of the factory Coyote engine, so we made the call to start building something that will support our quest to go as fast as we possibly can!

With our new built motor dropped in, our friends at Ford Racing helped us wire it up so the Bama Performance team could work their magic on the dyno. With over 944 horsepower to the rear wheels, we knew that it was going to be a fast pass, even with the factory MT-82 transmission still in place.

After we got to the track, we unloaded our 2015 GT and made a quick test pass, shutting it down at the 1000 ft. mark and coasting through the 1/4 mile. On the first shakedown run, it went 9.49 @ 136.62 MPH. Not bad!

Just me or does the rear suspension look like it needs to be dramatically stiffened up?  It was slamming so hard on launch it was lifting the front wheels...

I'm hoping you guys start doing the cobra build again. AM said they would go with a Solid axle and they could always build the motor. I was really looking forward to it. On the other hand congrats on the 2015!

i'm looking to make over 1000hp can't do that on a stock motor

Can we get more info on this car? Pulley size? How much boost? What kind of fuel? Dyno?

Nice, wouldn't mind a little more detail on the "built" motor. You seem to just say it has a new block with '15 internals and 11-14 timing setup.

A video about the engine build would be nice!

Looks like the MT-82 isn't as weak some people say it is.

When you get rid of the remote shifter mount and bolt it to the trans like a Tremec, the shifting is much better.

Sorry AM and Bama. You have a 2011 - 14 motor in the car. Unless you have a 2015 motor in the car it isn't truly a 2015 record. Let us know when you do this with a 2015 mustang with a 2015 motor in it.

no way that's 944 to the wheels, you just did a video 5 months ago and it put down 687 to the wheels, with the same set up.and if it's 944 to the crank maybe you should yank that supercharger off and slap on a turbo.supercharger just eat up so much horsepower to make power..

They did all this with 2014 5.0 cams, ecu and tuning. This car isn't a 2015 under the hood lol!
