EOC stands for 'End of Course' and in Florida it was the 'final' exam by the state. When I was in 8th grade we were basically training for the Algebra EOC. I had no idea it existed in other states!

I studied out of this exact book (or perhaps an earlier revision of it) back when I was in middle school. That class felt so difficult at the time, it's funny to me how simple this all looks now. Also, Monticello is pronounced mont-eh-chello
