Dinkum is a life sim and cozy survival game in a vibrant Australian outback island setting. It's a multiplayer game like Animal Crossing but for PC (a console release coming late 2025). Dinkum was released into early access in 2022 by solo developer James Bendon. In 2025, Krafton stepped in as the Dinkum publisher and fully released Dinkum with the 1.0 update on April 23, 2025 on Steam.

This is my favorite game of all time! I have over 2, 000 hours of game play. My favorite part of the game is design. You can create just about anything you can dream of. If you love the designing features in Animal Crossing, you will absolutely love how Dinkum pushes that forward.

I played ACNH for 4000 hours over 4 years. I’ve played Dinkum 4000 in 2 years. Dinkum offers so much more once you get further in the game. After year one and all NPC moved in, you get an airport to take you to a reef island. It’s full of treasures. The main world has a mine with 3 levels of difficulty. There is a wishing fountain you can make to put your island on peaceful and never have to worry about animals being aggressive.

I have 7 islands. No limitations there. I’ve started making themed islands. It spices up my play after 2 years.

This video made me smile a very huge smile! I've loved this game since it released in early access and have loved watching it evolve. When my friends ask me what the attraction is, it's hard to put into words. Now I can just point them here at your video! The fishing is my favorite. Of all the games I've played with a fishing mechanic (from MMO's to Farming/Life Sims) Dinkum is my favorite. Like you said, you can see the actual fish and the reeling in feels like real fishing once you get the hang of it.

Dinkum is my happy place. If it’s been a tough week, I make a new play file and lose myself in the world. I that you can start again while keeping the previous neighborhoods you build… it’s such a great game.

Absolutely LOVE Dinkum. I've been playing it for some time now. It's great that the game is institutive enough for me that I can put it down for a month to play other things and then just hop right back in where I left off without having to really think about how to do stuff.
Some of my favourite things to do include:
- Stealing eggs from big birds that want to kill you
- When a thunderstorm gives you a jump scare and a present for it
- Diving for pearls
- Hunting crocodiles
- Building a volcano near my tropical getaway spot in the north
- Riding in my helicopter looking for rare breeds of the diggos (there's 4 and you can put collars on them and bring them home)
- Collecting and wearing super fun outfits (my fav is the rainbow stripped stuff with the tinfoil hat and googly eyes)
