I'd argue in the Witcher that being overprotective is not "being nice". Giving her the thrust that we do believe she's capable of doing whatever she proposes is the real good way.

Who would prefer hearing "do it cause I told you so" rather than "I believe in you, you can do it" from their loved ones?

Goku: "Hey Vegeta, that *wasn't very paragon!"*
Vegeta: * spits * _"Renegade for life."_

I wouldn't call the Witcher choice an "ethical" one, or even a "moral" one. I'd say its more of a "how controlling are you" kind of choice, where something like ethics don't play into the dissension.

Hmm being over protective with Ciri or anyone in real life wouldn't be 100% ethical in my books. The only decisions that makes you a complete ass with Ciri is drinking with her, accepting the gold for bringing her to vizima and not burying Skjal.

When Kingdom Come: Deliverance first released, your character was tasked with picking people for jobs carrying water or waste. If you didn’t shake everyone down, asking what they would give you if you gave them a job, you missed out on getting a piece of a unique sword that could be reforged and purchased (it was a pos but you didn’t know that at the time). You’d gather all the other pieces, never knowing how to get the last. Later, they added an extra piece for you to find and complete the sword if you made the ethical choice not to extort refugees. Lol

From what I remember, in Dragon Age Origins, if you choose to support the nice dwarf as the new leader, he runs the city into the ground and is a terrible choice. But if you choose the awful dwarf, he's not so bad as a leader. To play with my conscience, I supported the nice dwarf all the way up until the final choice then turned around and chose the mean dwarf. He was awfully surprised by my sudden support.

It's incredibly easy to not chew on innocent peoples necks and still level up. A bit grindy, but you can literally just take on the standard enemies that respawn and they don't count towards the innocents lost. You can have the best of both worlds if you're patient and willing to train up against the bad guys.

To keep Ciri alive literally all you have to do is make the ethical choices!? Also on Vampyr not killing civilians just gets you slightly less EXP, that's it!

A Plague Tale Requiem made me cry. It absolutely sucks. A good and fitting, narratively understandable ending, but it broke me and I never thought to walk away.

In the Witcher 3 whatever I did one of the endings I got was that ciri joins getalt with his monster hunting adventures like I was like nice to ciri through the whole game

I got the Witcher choices right the first time because my definition of "being nice" is apparently different...

This War of Mine: The Little Ones Ed. was the one game I refused to keep playing when faced with a ethical choice of feeding my housemates or starving the kid I was given.

Ethics are inherently subjective but often the right choice isn't the one that makes you feel good but rather does the most good.

In The Witcher community there's a theory during the scene where "Ciri dies" that she actually lives but chooses to fly away and not return to Geralt.

Uh, in Tyranny, you can drop the bad guy stuff, join up with the rebellion and tell the boss "Hey, I brought stability to the region like you asked. You didn't specify how I should do it."

Mass Effect Bring Down the Sky DLC. If you let the terrorist go to save the hostages, he causes all kinds of chaos between then and when you see him again in 3. The best option (also renegade points) is to kill him there. He'll blow up the hostages, but you then kill him and stop him from hurting anyone else

What the hell? Who puts a spoiler like that IN THE THUMBNAIL!?

Suddenly proud of myself for keeping Ciri alive at the end of my first blind playthrough. XD

On "Witcher 3", I just found it frustrating that the game punishes you for trusting Ciri to speak with her father. The other tests pretty much came down to "be supportive, but not overbearing". But then on that one decision, if you don't treat Ciri like a baby, she ends up miserable.
