Setting up your Scarlett in Reaper

Man thank you so much. I just setup on a new PC and couldn't figure out what was wrong. Seeing this made me realize I hadn't downloaded the focus rite USB drivers. Sounds soooo much better

Everything he says is correct, but you might need to change your channel input from 1to 2. This solved my issue of not being able to record

Make sure your Reaper sample rate is the same as the Focusrite sample rate (Device - sample rate) and is the same as the project settings i.e. 24 bit / 48 or 16 bit / 44.1 etc. Got caught on that one! Trying Reaper after 20 years of using Audition - think I prefer Audition but eff subscribing to it. Reaper is pretty fiddly as a newbie but - onwards!

On Pop! OS: Click settings, audio, devices, then cry as you click through every option one by one baffled why the audio device won't open. Also I guess make sure your user is in the audio grop via usermod.

I got up to the point of selecting ASIO but the drop down in ASIO driver only has one option "Realtek asio" so I'm not sure what to do about that

I set up my Scarlett Solo 3rd gen with reaper and my only issue is I need the gain turned all the way down on the interface to not clip in the software when using the instrument line. The only way I can avoid this is to turn off the instrument button and set gain that way but I lose a lot of clarity because of this.
Are my pickups too hot or do I have a faulty product?

Does anyone know how to fix the latency issue i tried playing with the buffer and its still a half second delay?? Do I need to have my headphones plugged in my laptop or the focusrite.

MIDI is not addressed here, and Reaper is giving me a problem because I used to have a Line 6 interface and now I am getting an error and can't proceed since it is not connected. How can I reset this to the Focusrite?

I converted a youtube video to mp3 and put it into Reaper but it sounds awful (alot of feedback) what am I doing wrong? Also some presets I use for guitar get the same feedback

I have this exact setup, but when I create a new track, Reaper doesn't detect it and there is no sound. Am I missing a driver or something? please help
