To answer your question at 0m30s "Is there a real plane like that, or not?" There is one that I know of, but I believe the props may have been powered. It is the Breguet-Dorand "Gyroplane Laboratoire" Made in 1935. During WWII I know people played with the dual auto-gyro idea but if I remember right they abandoned the idea, because it was overly complicated and didn't increase the efficiency of the single auto-gyro.

There was a twin rotor design from Focke-Wulf I think. It was the first autogiro to achieve a stable hover.

yeah, powered, and they were coaxial instead of twin out on each wing (or however you say it :P)
