I feel like no one addresses one of the most expensive things to consider when deciding on leaving your employer to become self employed: health insurance.

Once you're completely paying for health insurance on your own, it's oftentimes much more expensive. If you have a family member with a chronic health condition, sometimes keeping your 9 to 5 while doing lawn care may be the best setup for you.

Great advice! I got layoff from my job in 2020, I decided to go all in into lawn care business in the spring of 2021 and do everything to market my business. First year I got about 30 clients and this years I got about 50 clients. Don't give up and work hard every day.

Big Jacob, thank you sir. I’m in year 6 and it’s amazing how much something can grow if you put your time and effort into it.

Good video. Keeping my job won’t be an issue bc I’m a firefighter and I work 48 hour shifts followed by 4 days off

This was really good advice! I’m still working while running my business in hopes that one day I can do it full time.

Ok, advice is great. I am retired and want to start a lawn care business for some extra money. I am still working 2-3 days a week at a regular job too. Tip and tricks? Equipment? Anything would be great! Thanks.

Great advice I don’t know if you’ve done this already but could you maybe go into a step-by-step program on how you did this when you first started did you have insurance become an actual business or were you just a weekend warrior

Wife and I have good Jobs and we don't need anything. I have been wanting to start a very much part time lawn cutting/weed eating small yards possibly a couple evenings monday-friday and perhaps a saturday here and there just for some more cushion money for investments. I can ride around and search and probably find hand fulls of houses with foot long grass that either very rarely cut there grass, or perhaps just wait for the city to fine them. I guess what I am getting at is would it be tacky to find these type of people and throw them a bid to come out at least once a month for a cleanup. Ideally its not perfect but at least it would keep the yard from looking too much like a jungle.

I am a stay at home dad homeschooling kids and my wife makes enough for us to get by but we still struggle. This year we are putting kids in private school. I can’t mentally take on a 15 hr job when i can mow lawns. Problem is i don’t have any good mowers. Should i take a loan to start with equipment or take long hrs push mowing till i can afford a commercial mower?
