I love this kind of outlet. No frill prices, everybody wins. A lot of time branding and advertising are parts of the cost. Self service warehouse with no or limited decorations bring prices down. I call this frugal.

That's one of my favourite shops in Russia. Not for everything, but for most things. I shop there in Stavropol.

I like that you show the labels and signs and explain the Russian terminology. Thanks for the tour.

there are a lot of great products in that supermarket. low prices are always an opportunity to have great deals. your buck($) goes a long way in those supermarkets.

low-overhead warehouse stores are the best!
paying for convenience is not something everyone can manage.

Thank you, Lisa!

We have our own low cost, well, we had, our own low-cost food warehouses in America. Cosco, Bjs, and Walmart. We had, because, you cannot say that those places are low cost anymore. Everything has gotten very expensive in America. Thanks to inflation and our politicians being warmongers and thieves. They have driven prices to the moon for the average American.

It’s really amazing how much we pay for something just because of the brand name of a product then just the basic functionality of it

Your video reminded me of a store in our town when I lived in Pennsylvania. It was only open in the first few weeks of each month and was very crowded when the government assistance checks came in the mail to people who could or would not work. Shoppers use to actually get into fights over the best and cheapest meats and produce. Customers would often take things from other shoppers carts! The cashiers had to memorize the prices of meats and vegetables. By the end of each month, the people who usually shopped at that store had spent the money given to them for that month so the store was empty of customers. The owner of the store lost money if he kept the store open the last week of the month, so he would send his employees home without pay that week and close the store. Thank you for doing such a thorough job educating us about life in Russia.

My family frequently goes to one of these. Bulk items, Jasmine rice, pasta. Veggies by the box, decent quality. Foreign foods, even a small Russian store that sells Baltika.
