Genius - both the music and the performance. Sokolov is a master of the piano. Even more, he is true to the music across a very diverse repetoire. He must have a wonderful soul. I never tire of listening to his recordings.

Alicia de Larrocha in her performance has more effective tone shading and emblishments more elegand and effective. She inserts a tiny quasi cadenza near the end. It seems to me she is unbeatable in her interpretation of Bachç 807.

Did Sokolov make an interpretational decision to double the bass at 1:47? Or is there a copy of the manuscript that mandates this difference?

It's good, however, I prefer Pogorelich playing to this playing!
