Mr Sokolov is not just a brilliant pianist but he also looks like the Penguin from Batman which makes the joy from this music even greater.

Maestro Sokolov is a long lost treasure. I thought I knew all the greats. Never heard him until 6 months ago. Since 1978 I've seen Richter, Gilels, Cherkassky, Horowitz et al..but Sokolov is right up there. And what repertoire. Charming Rameau and Couperin ! A new world for me. Sokolov is a brilliant pianist, I'm glad I have wifi to look this up-

I saw him twice in Luxembourg, years ago, it was sublime. He is humble, and very generous. Wonderful. Let's hope Russophobia will not kill all those Russian artists !
