With each upgrade the F-35 gets, the closer we get to another F-22 wanting to intercept itself 😂

There is an error in this video. In 1:55 to 2:00, it is said that NGAD is the replacement of F-35, whereas in reality NGAD is the replacement of F-22 Raptor.

A lot of people seem to make inappropriate comparisons between the F-35 and aircraft in entirely different roles. This is a strike fighter with an emphasis on ground attack. It is ALSO capable of air to air combat, but it is not an air superiority fighter like the F-15, F-22, or NGAD. The thinking is that if you can fit 50 planes in your airfield or carrier, it's usually better to have generalists than specialists. Instead of sending out 20 strike planes for your strike mission, 20 air combat planes for your air combat mission etc, you have access to 50 aircraft for every type of mission. Obviously specialists still exist, but having several thousand generalist workhorses that can do nearly everything moderately well is pretty smart.

We will end up with something like 200 NGADs, 1, 000 air combat drones, 150 B-21s and 2, 500 F-35s. So way more F-35s than any other type of fixed wing combat aircraft. Possibly more than all of the others put together. The military is highly invested in the F-35 program long term.

The F-35 is not being replaced by the new NGAD fighter as this video claims. We will have almost 2500 F-35’s if all goes as planned and it will complement the true air superiority fighter, the new NGAD. Essentially the F-35 will be the next F-16 multi-role fighter that will be used for multiple roles (multi-role) such as CAS, aerial deniability, as well as SEAD, reconnaissance, and maintaining SA. Regarding the NGAD fighter(s), there will be a Navy variant and an Air Force variant but the two will have different airframes. They will be responsible for taking air supremacy as well as aerial denial as the F-22 and F-15 have done. The Naval variant of the NGAD is replacing the F-18 as a carrier based fighter for maritime air supremacy while the Air Force variant is replacing the F-22 as a land based air supremacy fighter. And, like I said, the F-35 is replacing the F-16. All are multi-role fighters though. The new F-15EX will stay in active duty as well, for a long time and complement the new NGAD and work with both it and the F-35 as the new “missile truck”, a BVR platform, as well as a ground attack. The F-15C will most likely be retired from its role as an interceptor.

Awesome video! But also can we talk about the amount of shade thrown at Diablo 4? Hilarious!

Adaptive cycles may not be as complicated as you think. All it needs to do is just adjust shutters that control how much air goes through the core compared to the bypass section.

Adaptive with different types of after burners (circular detonation wave) will greatly increase capabilities beyond just adaptive cycle engines.

“Hey, how many little buddies are in the dog house?”
“You got a full house with 8” or “unfortunately you just have four”

Are the allied export versions going to be upgraded in kind, or are they going to do the standard 1-2 block upgrades behind thing? Also, are the Block 4 upgrades going to be applied to the Naval/ Marine versions as well? Seems like the replacement of the engine would get a little hairy when considering the VTOL functionality.
