0:44 you would not have to start with the 8 regular characters if you buy the 12 DLC fighters in the Nintendo eShop. Then you would start off with 20 characters.

Easiest way: play classic mode. Beat the fighter at the end and then play classic mode with that fighter and repeat

I just did it with classic mode very easy each time I get a new character I do another classic mode and get another character

What Happens if you lose a Challenge Approaching Match ? Also I am getting Smash Bros Ultimate Tonight. When I get it will this be the version in which the Challenger Approaches becomes easier

I main Dr.Mario, this is going to be hard since he is the second to last character to unlock.

Heres my way:



Collect your first character.

Close out SSBU and open it again, fight another match and win or lose,
Fight the challenger!

A faster way you could unlock characters is by using Sonic instead of Fox, and you can get Sonic when you play classic mode with the first time with Mario.

i have a better method to get one every minutes or so.
step 1: do classic mode
step 2: select kirby
step 3: charge up your hammer and hit the fighter (hammer does alot of damage)
step 4: repeat until minigame, (try to get as many points as possible)
step 5: beat the final boss (i forget his name)
step 6: in the credits press + to skip credits
step 7: a new fighter will appear, KILL HIM/HER
extra step: if you lose to the new fighter, play more classic mode and later you will find challengers approach on same screen to select classic mode, go into challengers approach and repeat step 2 and 3 (use hammer)
i just got smash ultimate like 3 days ago and already have more than half the characters using this method. :/

Did I just counted bad or instead of 77 there's 66 characters in total... I have the same amount of characters unlocked by playing World of Light and I feel there's around 6 o 9 characters left.
