I have an example where someone was right, a friend from my locals said mx saber invoker was gonna be good one day so my dad bought 100+ copies. Then zoo was announced, the timing was glorious.

Snowgre is legitimately a very good card as a one-of in any deck that uses Emergency Teleport. Its the opposite of a Garnet, you only play one so if you draw it you never brick on multiples and in the high-roll case of setting e-tele you can search Snowgre for another layer of interaction(it can activate on field). It is underpowered but it often trades for a card more valuable than it so I would highly recommend teching it if you already running psychics or 3-axis

While it's not quite on a 'meta' level, I feel like Slifer is in this conversation. Every few years, people think they've found a way to break Slifer, and every few years it just doesn't work. He's so constantly 'almost good'.

I think the current format is the best Snowgre has been in recent years. It's main use is negating those continuous/field spell searches since they need to be face-up to resolve (ie: Sangen Summoning, Opening of the Spirit Gates, King's Sarc, etc), but there are a few other cards now that check based on something on the field that Snowgre can ruin (ie: popping Desirae so it has nothing equipped so no negates)

Definitely too fringe to main, but I haven't regretted 3 in the side

Gnomaterial sounds great until you realize most of the most common handtraps do the exact same thing without a "no cards" restriction, targeting, or OPT. I look at all these restrictions and think: why weren't you guys around when Maxx C was being made?

I noticed this trend with Droll and Ogre (and a few others) years back and treat them like an extremely predictable security. I'm always amazed at the number of people who buy these the minute something good is teased then sell them a week later once they don't seem good, only to buy them again next time they see something good. Why not just... keep them?

1:25 spright being mentioned with power filter is funny to me because power filter does almost nothing to spright, every spright monster other than spright carrot has 1100 or more attack

Titano's kinda fun in Paleo-Lab brews since its a normal trap that resets itself, has a useful effect, and doesnt banish itself after doing so. But those lists usually arent all that great, and it's not really any good elsewhere.
