This update mirrors the upper’s evolved yet familiar approach by pairing the updated construction with classic ABZORB SBS pods and ENCAP features.
Product Details
The updated design elements are not novelty for its own sake. Each tweak is carefully considered and intended to elevate both the visual and on-foot experience. The subtle change in shape to the upper’s paneling is intended to better showcase the premium pigskin suede, while the teal ABZORB SBS utilized is sourced from an archival 998 colorway. The tongue label, for the first time, reads ‘Made in England’, a subtle nod to the 991’s status as a signature MADE in UK model.

I think this GR V2 is almost aesthetically flawless. The only thing I don’t like is the font style of the V2 in the back. They might eventually go on sale at some boutiques if the production goes up

The 991v1 actually got me into New Balance. When I heard about the v2 with slight aesthetic adjustments but a tech update, I was stoked! Time to wait for these to become a bit more affordable. NB’s Flimby, U.K. factory needs to work on those glue stains, too.

I just got my first pair of 990V6, I love them.

991 V2 is much pointier than the 990V3, 993, 2002 R. For me it's a good model to get the transition from Nike to NB. When you look at them from the top. They are much more Air Max 1 like, than all the other models mentioned.
Toebox is also narrower and flatter than on the others.
They are for me less comfortable.
Still a good pair, no question.

I was able to get these for $175 at a boutique. The first pair of Newbalance shoes I tried were the 2002r. I loved them, so I thought I’d try these when I saw them on sale, but I have to say I’m not very satisfied with the comfort. The shoe is sort of shaped like a wedge and walking around in them felt weird and uncomfortable, as well as the midsole feeling stiff. Besides that, the materials were amazing quality & the looks are a plus In my opinion

They turned up. I ordered size 10 in black. It was huge, so I ordered 9.5 (Grey) and again black in a 9. WhenI put it on it felt like a sock (soft upper). I also Brought the 990v4 in black size 10. It seemed to fit OK, but I also ordered a grey in 9.5 as black no longer available (I wanted black). The V2 was almost too soft, especially the upper. I envision if you dont get your right size it will become too loose. Reviews did not help me. Sam Dovorsky for one. The V4 is not wider then the V2, the V2 is wider than the V4! I must say the 991v2 felt heavier than the 990v4. That all said while I like the look of the V2, I may keep the V4 because it a tank. The sole is also more durable, but the V2's sole is incredibly slip resistant - its a slightly tackier rubber. than the V4. The V4 could serve as a trail shoe and a track (a hybrid shoe). Sizing is a hassel. I have to order many shoes to get the right size and it costs a small fortune.

Thanks for the links with deals. I'll definitely sub and refer to your videos for anyone that is in the market or sneaker head. The prices is definitely a deal breaker. My fresh foam Cruz 1 originals only cost me $60. And I must say the Cruz model upper is amazing sweater knit feel. The mid sole cushion is super nice. Not too soft like ultra boost foam is. I got those for my wife and I didn't like that super squishy feel of ultra boost vs fresh foam. And worn many Air Max including my LeBron 7 Air Max. I think fresh foam is perfect amount of soft. I have not tried fuel cell.

Hello, is the soles of New Balance FRESH FOAM X HIERRO V7 GTX is really hard? Just got mine last week and yes it is Vibram Megagrip. Can you explain it? Also, the Fresh Foam X has a very different feel than Fresh Foam and other midsoles in the market. At first, I thought it was a counterfeit. But as I researched, and went to a legitimate physical store, I confirmed that the Fresh Foam X really has a different feel upon touch.
