Great video, very useful and amusing at the end!! I’m in the UK and have ordered the 50e in Brooklyn grey. Surprisingly BMW seem to be working on around 3-4 months for delivery, very good news considering the supply issues with parts. Keep the great videos coming 👍🏻

wow seems like 50e has so much more torque and +10mi range and charges 2x faster than my 1yo 45e, and so much more impressive tech... I still like my 45e looks much better and it's been already so nice. but 50e is pointing to a really exciting future of PHEVs! (only if they could not take away the real 1-8 buttons)

Hey! Great review - curious how the driving experience feels compared to a 40i xdrive. Obviously the acceleration is going to be better but more curious about how smooth it is on a normal commute, character differences between the two engines, air suspension vs steels, etc.

LOVE my 2024 BMW X50e, but am curious as to why full charge used to give 42 miles in EV only mode, but in less than 1 year has dropped to 35-36 miles on full charge.

When you were talking about battry golf does that mean the engine can charge the car while stationary or when driving abit confused

So from 16A on the previous generation you got to 32A now. And 10 more miles on the battery range. Not bad. Would still get the iX 😅

Ok, here is a question regarding "Battery Hold"! Lets say one enables Battery Hold, ...at a current level of 40%, ...when the system is providing "Regen", will the battery level percentage increase as they drive and use Regen?

For instance, lets say one starts a long trip, ...800 miles and depletes the battery to 20 percentage, but then engage BH, ...and over the course of driving some 400 miles there is some regen taking place, ....will the system add charge back into the battery by regen means? Essentially, one could potentially gain a charge level up to 33% (or more), ...which means 12% was gained via Regen!

Hello there ! 3 questions? Charging can be from an Nema 14-50 outlet, 40amp breaker circuit that’s what I have at home does the car comes with a 240 v plug-in ?
2nd thing want to know if I don’t install an bmw wall box Gen3 wich is hard wired directly, can the 50e manage itself the amp or voltage that I plugged from my Nema 14-50 output?
since the bmw wall box is the brain of distribution of the electricity,
3rd Q. And how long will take to charge a complete battery say at 15%left ?

another question - I am looking at the Chargepoint EV charger for my home setup, which can deliver up to 50 Amps and also can be mounted externally as I will have to mount this outside the garage. Assuming this is a good charger and also saw this in one of your other videos. please advise if I should consider any other models. Thanks again

My 50e is production beging, confusing with the cupholder, it was heated and cooled cupholder I saw, but it is not now...really forward to have it

We have a 2023 430i M Sport we turned down the 2024 because of that ugly screen and the toggle switch shifter.I can not get used to that.

@BMWofFW - I got my X5 50e 2 months ago and absolutely love it, even though I wish it had a bit more miles on electric. I am thoroughly enjoying JP's videos as it is super clear and help me learn about my car. I would like some clarity on the EV charging as my attempts to speak with the local Genius have not yielded a clear response. Is there a throttle within the car that controls how fast it can charge? Until I get my 240V charger installed at home, I am using L1 charger at home and L2 charger at work which is a 6.2KW charger. I found a L2 Chargepoint charger that showed a capacity of 19.2KW and tried to charge my car there thinking a higher KW output meant faster charging However, upon plugging the charger to the car it displayed a charging rate of 6.2Kw per hour and the usual 3-4 hours for a full recharge. Appreciate some clarity on this. Thanks

Hi, I am confused. I just watched a review of the same car, 2024 X5 50e, done by Autogefuhl, and its range on the battery shows 76km (47 miles) at only 75% charged or about 100km (60 miles) when 100% charged. Another reviewer from the UK quoted about 70 miles of electric range. Any ideas on that big difference?
