say what you want about niel but he's 100x better than my science teachers in high school. maybe if I had a teacher like him I'd actually be interested.

He's right, only big warm desert in greater India is Thar desert which doesn't get monsoon due to Aravali mountains .

I remember this from the Earth Environmental Sciences class in uni... Honestly, it was a prerequisite and I barely remember anything.

Seeing the images and hearing him talk about the parts were like a as I suddenly remember 3 months of a class.

My first response to seeing any of Neil's shorts is to open the comments section and I'm never disappointed lol

You describe it as a "cylinder" but a lot of viewers won't automatically know that it wouldn't really look round. 30 degrees of latitude at the equator is a couple of thousand miles, but the vertical dimension is just single-digit miles. In proportion, if you rolled a sheet of typing paper into a cylinder, you would have to squash it so the paper would be almost touching.

Shit this is about the most interesting thing I’ve heard this mofo say and he’s on every third clip in my algorithm.
Whole new perspective on climate, does the air rise at the equator because of the earth’s spin momentum? Fascinating!

The most essential illustration with the Hadley Cells is only 1 sec on screen ....
