Показать описание
Speaker(s): Dr Kody Law (University of Manchester)
Date: 1 February 2023 - 09:00 to 09:45
Venue: INI Seminar Room 1
Session Title: The Bayesian Approach to Inverse Problems and Data Assimilation
Event: (RNTW01) Rich and Nonlinear Tomography (RNT) in Radar, Astronomy and Geophysics
Abstract: The Bayesian approach to inverse problems and data assimilation has been picking up momentum significantly over the past several decades. Algorithmic improvements and approximations are making this approach practically accessible for many problems where it would previously have been considered impossible. In this talk, I will present a broad overview of the Bayesian approach, along with some attractive properties and some recent promising open research directions.
