A lot of this audio from irl is coming from microphones that can’t handle the db levels produced so this is an inaccurate comparison

People keep saying ‘real life is better’ not understanding that they’re the same noise, it’s just that the VIDEO of the RL has extremely distorted sound. If you stood next to an IRL BTR-80 and a WT BTR-80, they’d sound pretty much identical.

A video camera microphone or a cellphone microphone isn’t actually picking up the correct sound. In order to truly get an accurate recreation of this sound, you’d have to fire the weapons in a sound proof room, which would be basically impossible. You’d have to use an array of different extremely specific types of microphones designed for such loud sounds and the specific frequencies that the sounds are at. These microphones would have to be placed at specific places around the weapon and be set up so that excess vibration doesn’t distort the sound. Another thing that would be almost impossible.

Though this does have me wondering if the makers of these weapons or the militaries who use them have set up any audio captures using equipment designed to pick up that kind of stuff. It seems almost pointless for a game, but I bet they could use it to determine faults in the weapons or maybe how to reduce sound for gunners.

Correct me if I’m wrong but is it just me or almost all top tier 20 mm guns just sound the same, and almost all tank cannon sounds are also same.
The snail really should add different sounds to different tanks
