I’m a life long AIC fan. When Jar of Flies came out, it blew me away! A combination of pain, beauty and sorrow with a longing for hope could be heard on every song. Those feelings, on this album are a synopsis of life on audio! The recording makes you feel every emotion. It’s a true masterpiece!

I remember vividly my first time listening to Jar of flies, just the cover alone made me aware that it was going to be a very heavy album. Little did I know I was going to be right for the wrong reasons.

I'm a hardcore Layneaholic and, though I have to admit I love some of their stuff with DuVall, it's just not the same. Layne and Jerry's harmonious collaboration can NOT be replicated. Layne's pain made those lyrics hit harder too. Even when they were Jerry's writings, Layne made them his own through his raw vulnerability. I suffer the same disease he did and those words hold a lot of power to me. ...like you've given up trying to fight it and don't care about your fate but, at the same time, there's a tiny part of you that keeps trying to hold on to whatever it can to keep your head above water. The rest of you just wants to sink into that black oblivion and leave the world behind.
Layne deserved better. Such a tragic ending to a phenomenal talent and beautiful Soul.
Your wings are no longer denied, Layne💜🤘🏻.

JoF is my favourite AIC album, my favorite song of AIC is Rotten Apple even if probably the most beautiful is Would. But Rotten Apple hits hard and the melody mirrors perfectly the feelings inside me.
