Tires ona an bomber are not an innovation, but a desperation.

Innovative ideas, right, this is the thought process of the general who came up with this:
If we were to put some tyres on planes it would look like we're doing something to protect ourselves, so the MoD could pay huge amounts of money for these valueless used tyres and from the difference I could buy a Maybach to my daughter for her birthday.

Putting tires on an airplane compared to inventing an atom bomb. The bar in India is not set too high it seems.

Russians: we have a problem! Solution: put some old tyres on the planes and thats it. Cost: 50 Rubles total

US: we have a problem! Solution: put some old tyres on the planes and thats it. Cost: Contractor demands 1000 USD/tyre to make the job done. Pentagon asks for 2000 USD/tyre from the White House. The White House asks for 3000 USD/tyre from the Congress. The Congress grants new military package deal worth 4000 USD/tyre.

Anyone who has watched "Road Runner" would know the only thing that would work better against drones would be "springy springs"

Tyres burn really well. It'll be pretty interesting to see whether this coping strategy works any better than the cope cages you see on a lot of Russian tanks.

Tyres? Putting large truck tyres on the planes just guarantees a bigger and more destructive fire. If those are car tyres, then those a pretty small bombers Ms Wion.

When Russia put cages on its tanks, Ukraine laughed and mocked. Months later, Ukraine is moving around with caged tanks.

It’ll be great until they have to scramble the jets and forget to take the tyres off.

Now if that plane is caught fire and the tires also start burning, then it will only bring that much more fuel for the fire and is able to damage the plane even more. Great work!

Keeping the fuel tanks and internal spaces insulated from the sun mostly likely, it won't stop or confuse anything
