Teenage Michael Chang's win against world #1 Ivan Lendl down 2 sets to 0 and then coming back from 2 sets to 1 to defeat world #3 Stefan Edberg in the final will always be one of the most magical runs in sporting history.

Great upload with excellent quality. I think this match took place just couple of months before Federer dethroned Sampras for 8th Wimbeldon title at SW19. At this stage Michael Chang was already in twillight of remarkable career and Federer was just up and coming with massive talent. You have to admire Michael Chang, such a legendary fighter and great player, he tried tenaciously even way off his best form. Credits to both great champions!

Chang has this sheer desire to win and fight every point even Federer was the better player. This is something missing in our so called new next gen players.

That Federer Guy, he has a potential,
Maybe someday he will win a slam, or two.

I think Chang still holds the record for youngest ever men’s slam winner (French Open ‘89).

Awesome footage! The low level behind the baseline video in particular!

Looking closely i realized
Youtube, facebook and twitter did not exist at that time
And i was only a year old
And to see roger still playing OMFG
What a treat for grown ups to see his career from start till now

At that point in his career Chang had been slowing down maybe half a step from the footspeed he once had from 1989 to `98, but it cost him dearly in ranking (he used to be no. 2 behind Sampras for quite some time) and in winning major titles (his last coming from 1997´s Indian Wells). Federer on the other hand was far away from his best, too, shown in quite a number of strange shot selections - his biggest problem in the early years of his career - not highlighted in this video. From 2002´s Hamburg title on, pieces were falling into place for Federer. - Anyway, thanks for the great upload and the memories. :)

@Tennis TV I hope you could upload more tennis matches of 90's because there were so much varieties of surfaces and players in that era, and that make matches more exciting and enjoyable. Below is my wish list:
93 & 96 Los Angeles Open final Richard Krajicek vs Michael Chang, 96 Chang vs Edberg(semifinal)
96 Wimbledon Richard Krajicek vs pete Sampras
96 Indian Wells Michael Chang vs Agassi(quarter), Chang vs Rios (semifinal)
93 & 95 Year-End Masters Cup round robin match Jim Courier vs Michael Chang
95 Masters Cup match Thomas Muster vs Chang
97 Indian Wells semifinal Chang vs Muster
98 Canadian Open Sampras vs Agassi, Krajicek vs Agassi
99 Key biscayne Lipton open Sampras vs Krajicek

Chang had such heart. But in big matches against bigger guys he looked like he was fighting gravity.

Chang wasn’t as quick already. Still such a great player for his size, speed, and strength.
