Great video - China is headed for Weimar land while we are headed for a depression.

The big driver for dollar rising - along with long treasury - is offshore dollar debt; meaning dollars are needed to pay debt. While domestic debt also drives dollar scarcity. For China since they peg to USD and no who trades with them want their currency they need to increase the amount they peg to USD - hence their risk for runaway inflation.

What exactly is the issue? You can use many different securities as collateral which aren't AAA-rated. It's matter of applying an appropriate haircut reflecting the risk inherent in CGB.
