Habanero Apricot Jelly

A truly fabulous jelly! Tiny pieces of habanero pepper, dried apricots, sweet red pepper, and red onions look like jewels glistening in the tangy jelly. Perfect as holiday gifts, or at your supper table. As a bonus, we demonstrate how to make Thai chicken wings with the jelly and a few added ingredients.

Ohhhh so good. Used dried organic apricots, (brown). Yes the sauce was more of a buckwheat honey colour, but you're right, so good. Thank you Pam. Now onto fresh small batch strawberry jam, then habanero crabapple jelly. Whew!

Hi! I just wanted to come back and comment on this older video to thank you. A few years ago I would watch canning videos (like this one!) dreaming that I would do that one day. This year I won a blue ribbon at the Utah County fair making this habanero apricot jelly! Thank you (and Jim!) for taking the time to run this channel and bringing your knowledge to all of us. You are an amazing resource and inspiration to people. Thank you!

Oh cool! I'm going to have a GREAT time with this one! I'll probably use sweet Italian peppers and what they sell around Lancaster PA here, as "Super Chillis." (I smoked a bunch of these hot peppers last year with Hickory till dried, ground them into flakes and gave them for samples... people LOVED them that way! Homeade smoker from a stainless washer tub haha!) We just ate some pepper jelly with those "woven" crackers and cream cheese. Fantastic! Thank you SO much!

Thanks, Mrs. RR, looks like a wonderful jelly. I love the wing coating application. "We will not falter - We will not fail." Thanks for the video. God Bless, stay safe

Oh, . my! That looks so good! I have made Pepper Jelly before, but have never added anything to it. That elevates it to another level and those wings look delicious! And I know it tasted good even if it didn't turn out the way you wanted. Thanks for sharing!

Gorgeous! Very Unique! Easy too! I skipped right over the recipe...thought it would be too hot. After watching your video, I'm going to give this a try! Thanks!

I finally got to make my Habanero Apricot Jelly. I made a batch each of both sugar and Allouse Sweetener. I doubled the batches and I used Pomona's Pectin and was able to use less sugar. and less allouse. 5 cups of sugar and 4 cups of Allouse I might not have measured 4 cups of Allouse and that jelly is just a little tart. I read that Allouse is 1-1/3 cup is the same as 1 cup sugar. I am still new to using Allouse I was excited to get to use my Maslin pan you suggested for the first time it is really awesome. I am having a little bit of a problem with fitting a lid One of my glass lids ALMOST fits and I used it. But would rather have one that fits perfectly. All of my jellies sealed and all my fruits are suspended I can't wait to try it and gift it. I ordered more Allouse and want to make zucchini relish made with it. Zucchini is my family's favorite relish.

We often make habanero peach jelly, and it’s my favorite. I put some cream cheese on a plate, put some of the jelly on top of that, and eat it with wheat thins. It makes a wonderful snack or party appetizer.

Your Weck jars are so pretty! I have a precious sandwich baggie of Habaneros from the garden in the fridge still. They have already made their way into two batches of home fermented hot sauce. A batch of pepper jelly will be the perfect way to end the gardening season. I wonder if home dehydrated apples could be substituted for those dried apricots? Thank you for giving such detailed instructions, you are a natural teacher. I just got my first shipment of Harvest Guard lids and rings so I have a big learning curve ahead of me now.
