One of my daughters is a prison guard at a men’s maximum security prison. One of the inmates gave her a flower that he had picked in the yard. She was a new guard and just thought it was cute. The more experienced guards understood what could develop and immediately moved my daughter to a different floor so that she will never have contact With that inmate again. Now she knows not to accept any gifts from the prisoners, no matter how sweet it seems. They all have an ulterior motive.

I don't think they were "in love" at all. I think she was infatuated and he was using her 100%. It was all fake on screen AND in real life.

Terrible On Screen Chemistry challenge: Zoey Deschanel and Mark Walberg "The Happening", Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman "Eyes Wide Shut", Tom Cruise and any female lead in any movie he's ever done

The reenactment with you and your husband was 10000% better chemistry than the original. I would watch that movie.

The saddest thing about the story is that Casey was never in love with Vicky. He's a narcissistic sociopath who quickly picked up on Vicky's loneliness and self-esteem issues (as narcissistic sociopaths do). He then charmed her into his bidding. Once he got out he had no more need for Vicky, which is why I think she unalived herself- she realized she had been played, and she had ruined her life for nothing.

She apparently was divorced from her husband but let him move back in after his diagnosis and she took care of him till he died. I guarantee had the situation been reversed he wouldn’t have taken care of her. 😢
She was probably an extremely high functioning co dependent. I feel bad for her, she fell for the narcissist and paid the ultimate price.

38:08 Wikipedia says he had a 75 year sentence for other crimes, even before the murder he confessed to that got him moved back to Vicky's prison. I feel like the likelihood of him getting out in time to do anything terribly fun was probably pretty low, even before the additional murder charges and the escape.

33:50 I work with prisoners so let me clarify. Lauderdale County Detention Center is a small jail. And like any jail or prison in the US, it’s highly understaffed. So with it being a jail (and not a large prison facility where prisoners are housed on a permanent basis according to their sentence), the only person who is monitoring the jail calls was most likely Vicky herself. Every call is recorded, but not always monitored. If a prosecutor requests calls from a certain inmate, they go through the courts for that. But in house, only the COs will monitor calls if they have a reason to be suspicious or just to do random screening. And since she was the Director of the facility, she had complete control over the calls. All she had to do was write a report saying, “nothing to report.” She used a burner number to get calls from him when she was outside of work so with no one else finding a reason to check on Casey’s calls, no one would’ve ever discovered her voice nor ever detected her by phone number (as she used the burner number solely for those calls and no one else had that number except for Casey). Hope that helps!

Oh, to futher clarify… yes, prisoners have phone seggz crouched in a corner at the phones. Mostly it’s the woman on the other end doing all the “action, ” but if there’s not a lot of people around, they can find 3 minutes alone in the corner of the phone bay lol. And I guarantee she snuck him a cell phone so there’s tons of calls no one will ever hear. But it was smart of her to make him use the regular phones because it becomes suspicious when an inmate NEVER uses the phones. So to keep up appearances and reduce risk of getting caught with contraband (a cell phone), they hid in plain sight using the prison phones (which, btw, is VERY expensive). And ofc he would’ve had to use the regular phones when he wasn’t in her jail.

Just a little background... a "dry run" comes from the moonshiners. They'd run their routes without the moonshine to get familiar with it before running the route with it. Hence the "DRY run" 😊 like dry county vs wet county.

Also... the tastycakes skit... y'all had me rolling 😂

You know you're a wholesome channel when "titties" is the dirtiest word you've ever said, even if accidentally. 🤣

11:47 the Gary Busey “Let’s talk about buttered sausage” sent me over the edge. I think I startled some moms in the pick up line with my cackle.

I'm a correctional officer.. Our department would never send a lone officer on a trip with an offender. Especially a female officer.
