My Week with the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

I spend a week with the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro to see what it's like to live with this iForceMAX powertrain, those fancy IsoDynamic seats and all the other upgrades that come with the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro. Overall, there's some great aspects to this truck, but it'll cost you a premium over the competitors, plus there's a few disappointments I unfortunately uncovered this week. What do you think about the TRD Pro Tacoma? Big thanks to Toyota for providing this vehicle to review!

This truck should be no more than $55k

Looks great just trucks in general are too expensive. I’d go with the AT4x

Great looking truck but $65k I don’t think it’s worth that much

Stance is wicked but so is that price, yikes. Love everything aethetically minus the gloss fender flares which don't seem like they'd do too well if you actually off-roaded this.

Sounds like the MPG of the new pro is very similar to the old one, BUT the old TRd Pro ran a 16” wheel with 31.5” tires. The new one with the 18” wheels and 33” tires def doesn’t help mileage.

17.4 mpg is horrible and it’s a hybrid. Wow

Nobody is dumb enough to spend 65k on a tacoma.

If I had my pick, I would just go with the Canyon AT4 and I don't even like gm

Awesome video Matt, love the review as always, regarding the seats, I have read from owners that you have to adjust the air pressure and dampening according to your weight for the seats to be effective, could’ve been that the person who had it before you weighed more and the seats were adjusted to their settings. Regarding the fuel economy, there’s no escaping the fact that it is running 33inch tires with a lot of ground clearance, neither is it shaped for fuel economy so the odds are definitely not in it’s favor 😂. Love the Tacoma tho, it’s definitely my favorite in this segment.

I’ve seen some in person but idk about the Hybrid motor still. I own a 09 Tacoma with the 4.0L V6 and it’s my daily with 78k miles. Still love it.

The new Tacoma are nice but it’s overly priced.

These are Way too much money, not worth it and they should have kept the V6. Does anyone else notice All the Toyota trucks that do this IForce Max hybrid set up are horrible on gas mileage. The new Tundra IForce Max is also horrible on gas mileage. A co worker bought the new Tundra with that Iforce hybrid set up and he said his V8 Tundra was better on the highway for mileage, he said the new IForce Max in Tundra only did two miles better in the city. He said wish he kept the V8. Looks like same goes for this new Tacoma, they should have just kept the V6, what is the point of a complex hybrid setup if the mileage is no better than the traditional engines. Very stupid.

I never thought a truck could be such a joy to daily. Usually trucks are just blah, but my 24 Taco TRD sport seems like it was built for a fun driving experience. Great little rig.

Great review. Sounds like the ranger raptor is the clear winner. This was supposed to have good power with good mpg.

I have a 2021 TRD sport and even with very aggressive driving I still get 18 mpg. 23-24 if I’m taking it easy. 17 is crazy considering its turbo and hybrid
