Qigong for Autumn | Releasing Grief and Sadness

Показать описание
Filmed at the stunning Tumalo Falls in Eastern Oregon, this class is dedicated to the resolution of conflict, the soothing of grief and the hope for peace on Earth.
Qigong shares many roots with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), both recognizing the Fall season as a time for release and reflection. This time of the year is part of the Metal element cycle, a contracting force that brings our minds and bodies inward. The Metal Element is connected with the Lungs and Large Intestines; two important organs for our immune system.
The lungs contribute to the immune system by ensuring proper oxygenation, filtering the air, providing immune cells, regulating immune responses, and producing antibodies. These functions collectively help defend the body against respiratory infections and support overall immune health.
The large intestine is home to a vast community of microorganisms, collectively known as the gut microbiota. These microbes play a crucial role in maintaining gut health and influencing the immune system. A balanced and diverse gut microbiome is associated with a more robust immune response and can help protect against pathogens.
According to TCM, emotions and physical health are intricately linked, and different emotions are believed to affect specific organs in the body. In this context, the lungs are associated with the emotion of grief or sadness and when one experiences prolonged or intense sadness, it can potentially affect the lung's energy.
When sadness or grief is overwhelming, it is believed to impact the lung's Qi, leading to symptoms like breathlessness, a feeling of oppression in the chest, or a persistent sighing, which can be an attempt to release emotional tension.
Prolonged or excessive sadness can weaken the lungs' energy and function, making people more susceptible to asthma or respiratory infections.
If you’re wanting to increase your energy, boost your immune system or process sadness and grief this class is for you.
What is Qigong?
