I love a good heavy leather boot. Once they are broken in they are heaven. Dry feet are happy feet.

I have found every pair of canvas hiking boots or shoes i bought, from Hi tek, Soloman, Merrell and Adidas, let water in after walking though wet grass, even though they claim they are waterproof.!
Leather brasher and Meindl ex german army boots are great, but heavy .
