What a poor take Mr Parsons, "interpretation by the ref". As you are talking about the players using their hands on the jumper as a guide you show the clip 3:05 and the clip clearly shows the defenders binding on the lifters before the jumper is on the ground. That is what the ref penalized New Zealand for, and correctly. If the player is not down and you bind on the lifter you put the jumper in danger because the person responsible for bringing him down safely is interfered with. This is not "interpretation", New Zealand infringed, the ref penalized them and warned them not to repeat and they repeated. There are two groups to blame here, the Boks who applied the pressure and the All Blacks who did not adapt and by adapt I mean play within the rules

Unbelievable. I have big respect for NZ rugby but not a single mention of just how dominant the Springboks where and all the talk was about the ref and cards etc. The AB where demolished and suffered a record defeat. The reality is there pack are not strong enough and the ‘unbeatable’ mystique of the team has been smashed. You cant blame the ref for cards and ill discipline. The fact is they where out muscled and had no answer to a hungry and powerful Bok team.

Interepretation of the ref? WTF!!!! The new buzzword for AB commentators when not getting the decisions due to ill discipline, skirting the lineout laws forever, and sheer pressure! Australia and Wales learned the hard way too what pressure will do when applied correctly!. Cmon AB commentators, stop blaming your team and give credit where it is due!!!

Don't mention the refs. When Rassie did, everybody mocked him. Rassie was banned and handled it like a Champ. It could have been sorted out by now if Rassie had all the Coaches support. Too late.

When you lose the collisions you lose the breakdown battle. When you lose the breakdown you are under pressure. When you are under pressure you give away penalties. When you give away multiple penalties you get cards.

Discipline issues are a result of pressure from losing the breakdown.

Boys don’t sugar coat it… the all blacks couldn’t score until the last 8 minutes… that’s bad …!!!

FIRST THING that's talked about is the ref. Classy guys.

New Zealanders always mock the SA supporters for complaining about the refs. Now they do the same...

As a South African and a fan of this show, I must say I'm quite disappointment at the lack of kudos given to the Boks for their performance. Jeff Wilson on the Breakdown was absolutely arrogant in his analysis and now this? The ref is being blamed for being pedantic! Seriously!?? Your discipline was shoddy because you were being put under immense pressure. The ref probably shouldn't have blown every time the All Blacks' timing was off at the lineout and drove in under the Bok jumper? The ref shouldn't have blown every time the All Black pack buckled under the pressure that they were put at at scrum time? Or the ref shouldn't have blown every time an All Black player knocked the ball on under pressure. This Parsons dude is so delusional when he refers to the stats and that the All Blacks were not that far off!!!??? Well, they were far off where it really mattered and that is the scoreboard!! I expected better guys!

Fancinating show. As a Bok supporter, I’ll refrain from passing comment on Friday’s encounter. I believe we should not read too much into it. The coaching staff are still experimenting with combinations, strategy and tactics.

That said, I was hugely impressed with Fiji. I’ve long held them in high regard, their passion for the game is palpable. I believe they’ll continue to grow from strength to strength. Their recent inclusion in Super Rugby has done them the world of good. My sincere hope is this trend continues with Samoa, Tonga and Japan, May our beautiful game grown across the entire PI region.

Love the show. Keep up the good work 😊

Always funny to listen to guys complaining about the ref but when the Saffas does it we get blasted and our coach banned for a year, not so easy when the ref is actually seeing the tactics used by nz and not scared to blow it...

4:18 i think the scoreline flatters the ABs. The Springboks went over the line 3 times without points. Could easily have been 56 points on the board. Not a fan of the held-up rule, but it helped the All Blacks (taking nothing away from their defence).

The scrum interpretation needs work too because I saw only 1 team going forward.

I usually love the response from the All Blacks fans and pundits when they lose, but this time all I am hearing about is the ref and the cards.

The fact that none of the NZ rugby pundits can't acknowledge that the All Blacks were simply outplayed by the Boks is simply ludacris. The Boks are the team that are peaking at the right time. They dominated Wales the week before and dominated the All Blacks 1st team. The boks is head and shoulders above the All Blacks right now. Just deal with it and pray you don't meet the Boks in the quarters.

Its not about interpretation of the ref he just didnt let ab get away with the stuff they usually get away with!

You can't touch the jumper in the air at line out time, simple as that. There is no issue of interpretation in that rule. Lots of excuses for a poor AB performance

Ha ha so basically the ABs were better than the Boks but it was the refs fault for dishing out cards which made it harder for ABs. Great analysis once again. Going to run out of excuses eventually and going to have to eventually look deeper at where the ABs were bad on the day, which they just were.

Thank you, James for ref interpretation. We all know that you cannot touch the player in the air. We all know that the All Blacks use this to counter the maul illegally against all teams and lift the player legs off the ground. They stand on the players for a line out also. Luckly for the All blacks that all ref do not ref the rules. If this should happen, it going to be a dark world cup for the All blacks.

The biggest X factor for the Boks is the return of their captain Siya Kolisi. The identity is there and when the boks are playing like this no one will stop them. Should the boks defend the World cup, Siya will definitely go down as the best ever Springboks captain and probably up there with the great Richie McCaw. The All Blacks will have to put this loss behind them very fast as the French will be licking their fingers. I look forward to that opening game. Good luck. It will be a scintillating World cup competition
