We never played French Cricket that way when i was a kid the batsman had the bat the ball was toss that bat hit then batsman would move until the ball was pick up then the person with ball will toss the ball from where he was if the ball hit on the leg he was out and person that toss the ball then bats and if the ball is toss and batsman didn't hit it the batsman could still move but he can't hide
