Today there is another improvement on our plot of land in the Philippines. We had a hard time clearing the thick tropical thickets alone, so we decided to hire workers. These men are Filipinos from our village. We didn't expect them to start early today and were amazed at how fast they worked. We brought them snacks and they were very happy. We visit them every day to see the improvements on the grounds and bring them snacks. After a few days, we decided to hire more people to make the cleanup go faster. Now we have two groups working together. The land is transforming from a jungle to a beautiful farm with lots of trees. We decided that we will make compost from the bushes that our people cut. This will be a very good fertilizer for our future garden. We have beautiful yellow flowers growing on our property. We were so happy and wanted to keep these tropical flowers, but the people who are clearing the area said they are not flowers but weeds. They grow very tall and can climb trees and then the trees die. After sitting at the farm for a while, we decided to have lunch at the carinderia.
A very nice gift came to us from Russia. The package contains several skeins of yarn, a set of hooks, a bag of chocolate nuts, packs of fermented tea and a fan. We are very happy with these gifts.

Maybe your way to the farm site ( "entrance")needs to be cleared also from the bushes to prevent insects like mosquitoes or microorganisms to thrive.

You could plant dragon fruits, Durian, Lanzones, rambutan, avocados, pineapples etc.

❤ That looks like a large farm for a new couple. Most just buy lots big enough to build a house and pool but you have enough to have many different plants .

After clearing the whole area, try to fence it even with barb wire to secure your boundary. From there you can proceed improving the whole area, slowly. Plant lemon grass as much as possible along the whole area to prevent snakes from coming in, they don't, like the smell. Try to google which plants to raise to prevent snakes from your farm. Your farm workers are creative. If I am not mistaken, they made a rake out of wood!👏. That makes hauling of the bushes and leaves cut easier.

Put up a small kubo or temporary shade for you to relax in. Bring home-cooked food and have a picnic. That’s a nice piece of property you have over there. Praying for you both.

If you have tall coconut trees, you can make it into lumber and replace it with dwarf coconut like Tacunan or Catigan. It can bear fruits after 3-4 years. Also, plants iron bamboo, it is good for kubo, house or property fence construction. Plants some bearing fruits like Davao pommelo, mango, banana, etc.
