Start paying a living wage. It is that simple. Our staff receives a decent wage and increases every year. Also promoted a couple of them. Along with their promotion wage. We only lose people to higher education. Proud of all of them.

Get a clue people can choose more often because there is a need for workers. 1 pay better give better benefits 2 better work environments people are tired of getting dumped on while rich people profit from the hard work they provide 3 stop asking for degrees for jobs that don’t need them and or pay minimum wage or less.

UK specific - nobody on the lower end of the wage ladder wants to work full time on minimum wage and get their income (any work income above £12.570 pa, eg if you earn £22000 pa, £9430 is taxed) taxed at the basic 20% rate, when part time (under £12.570 pa) plus benefits pay much more with total income that is untaxed (the most important factor here), with far less stress and body strain, and a load of welfare freebies that are paid for by the full time workers by said tax. The Conservative Government have had years to change the income tax bands to make work really pay yet they haven’t bothered, and Labour haven’t bothered to highlight this at all so far. If they increased the income basic band to £20kpa (reflective of the current minimum wage rate) this problem would go away overnight, increase GDP and increase the tax take with more people in full time work.

I want to work, but if employers are going to offer low wages, people should get to pick their own hours. Employers want something for nothing and they're not paying according to changes in inflation so people might as well just be on benefits because one earns more than a minimum wage job.

When will the companies understand that no one wants to work for miniscule amounts of money? CEOs make hundreds of millions of dollars a year and Federal minimum wage is $7.25.

I want to work. I really want to work. But no one wants to pay enough to cover child care. So I stay home to raise my daughter, while my wife works. When I get offered a job that will pay more than the cost of childcare (at least 30% more), I’ll take it and be so grateful that I’ll be the most productive employee there.
